The team has supported projects from VT's Missisquoi Bay Bridge replacement to MA's Green Line Extension and NH's Mount Washington Hotel, plus miles of pavement preservation throughout northern New England.

WSP is initiating a search for a Construction Inspector to help oversee road, bridge or associated construction with construction values ranging from $1-$50 million. This position can be based out of Portland, Augusta or Eliot, ME;
Merrimack, NH; or Waterbury, VT. The inspector, depending on experience, will oversee elements such as excavation, back filling, compaction, cast-in-place concrete, precast elements, bridge seats, bearings and joints, bridge rail, drainage, paving and other incidental items. The inspector will report to the Resident Engineer, or their designee.

• Interfacing with contractor's supervisors to determine and monitor daily work.
• Complete daily reports, measure and calculate unit price quantities.
• Coordinate independent material sampling and testing, or perform these tasks periodically.
• Monitor maintenance of traffic.
• Take and compile photographs for tracking daily progress.
• Assist in updating red-line drawings using Bluebeam.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Required

• High School Diploma
• 5 years applicable experience
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to learn to read plans and specifications, or the aptitude to learn
• Valid driver's license
• Proven record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Preferred

• Associate of Science degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or related field
• Average proficiency with MS Word Suite
• Hands-on experience with construction management software such as Site or Field Manager, APPIA, Procore, IPD or similar; knowledge of Bluebeam
• ACI, NETTCP certification or ability to attain within 3 months of hiring
• Any combination of college education, professional licenses, certifications and experience will be considered
