This position is onsite.

This position is responsible for managing the operations and maintenance of Waterford Oaks and Pontiac Oaks County Parks including trails, rental spaces, and other recreation facilities including but not limited to playgrounds, a BMX track, a disc golf course, fishing pier and County Market.

Under general supervision, is responsible for the daily administration, and operation of Oakland County park(s) and accompanying facilities. Inspects and supervises the maintenance, improvement and repair of buildings and grounds, equipment, cross country, nature and trails, beach front, and sanitary facilities. Learns and researches job-related materials regarding customer service and team building techniques. Designs and modifies equipment to meet event needs and to increase efficiency and economy of operations.

Is responsible for the collection and depositing of monies and fees, and for providing budget recommendations for assigned park(s) to Parks and Recreation Administration. Parks and Recreation Supervisors are responsible for hiring, training, discipline, and discharge of park staff. Utilizes current Countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.

Minimum Qualifications EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Have a Bachelor's degree in Parks & Recreation, Natural Resources, Forestry, Horticulture, Business Administration or related field; ANDHave had at least two (2) years of full‑time work experience in the management of a park or recreation facility which included responsibility for providing services to the public such as golf courses, campground, or other recreation related services;

ORMust be a high school graduate or have a certificate of successful completion for the General Education Development (GED) Test; ANDHave had at least six (6) years of full-time work experience in the management of a park or recreation facility which included responsibility for providing services to the public such as golf courses, campground or another park related service.

NOTE:

A Master's degree in one of the fields described above, may be substituted for one (1) year of experience.

Possess a valid United States motor vehicle operator’s or chauffeur’s license. Out of country driver’s license holders will be required to obtain the appropriate valid State of Michigan driver’s license before the hire date.

When assigned to the Golf Courses, must maintain Michigan Department of Agriculture Commercial Pesticide Applicator's Certification in Turf Grass, Ornamental Plants, and Right of Way.

Pass the complete examination including the employment medical established for this classification.

Successfully complete the six month probation period.
