We are looking for a Community Day Services Manager who will work alongside the Community Day Services Staff in providing an enriching, engaging, and safe environment for adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities who participate in the HSS Community Day Services Program.
Duties and Responsibilities- Meet with the Vice President of I/DD Services monthly for administrative planning.
- Orientate assigned new clients to the services and procedures of the CDS Program, documenting all such orientation.
- Serve as liaison with residential staff.
- Develop implementation strategies, including assessments, planning, coordination, and facilitate the planning meeting in collaboration with the QIDP’s.
- Participate in staffings / person‑centered planning for all assigned clients.
- Make referrals on behalf of assigned clients to appropriate resources.
- Advocate for clients with other community resources, emphasizing supports aligned with clients’ strengths, talents, and interests.
- Spend a significant portion of time working with clients and direct care staff, demonstrating goal/outcome implementation and gathering input to develop future client goals/outcomes.
- Write monthly progress notes on goals/outcomes for assigned clients.
- Serve as head coach for all Special Olympics activities for the CDS Program. Attend all coaching meetings and events.
- Perform routine office and CDS activities, including driving, lifting 50 pounds, answering phones, and operating computers.
- Participate in person‑centered planning facilitation training on a regular basis.
- Hire, supervise, orientate, evaluate, and discipline community day staff. Perform 3‑month and initial evaluations, and subsequent annual evaluations. Supervise Human Service interns/students, etc.
- Coordinate staff meetings and attend other meetings such as Clinicals, Safety Committee, Managers Meeting, Human Rights, and All Staff.
- Knowledge, skills, and mental development equal to interacting with staff and clients to carry out CDS needs.
- Understanding of the human services needs of clients.
- Experience and working knowledge of person‑centered planning.
- High school diploma.
- Two years of experience serving individuals with developmental disabilities / mental illness.
- Computer proficiency.
- Demonstrated ability to work with others in a variety of professional relationships.
Must have a proper license at all times and ability to operate agency vehicles. Must have normal or corrective appliances that enable normal hearing and eyesight, and clarity of speech in order to be understood. Able to lift at least 50 pounds, climb at least two flights of stairs, handle client’s bodily excrements with proper protection, and be emotionally stable enough to react appropriately to a client in crisis.
