Childcare Director

Childcare Director position at Friendship Village Retirement Community of Waterloo, IA. It is a faith‑based childcare center open 24/7, serving up to 105 children with a focus on safety, security, convenience, and positive learning.

• Care and safety of children
• Oversee all aspects of the facility including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing and scheduling
• Maintain accurate records on children – development, attendance, health, & other required information
• Hire and supervise staff, provide coaching, evaluate performance and discipline as needed
• Prepare and submit administrative reports and records on time
• Ensure staff are trained and comply with DHS, Friendship Village and all agency regulations
• Develop and implement child development programs
• Communicate regularly with parents about their child's development
• Create a safe, fun, positive, engaging environment for children
• Recruit and enroll children to attend the center

• Meet DHS point requirements for Director position
• 5+ years of childcare experience in a licensed facility
• 3+ years of management experience
• 3+ years of office experience preferred
• Experience with Procare or other childcare computer systems
• Pass pre‑employment screenings (criminal background checks, abuse registry check, drug test, physical, TB test)
