As a Part Time Student - Manufactoring Engineering for Waterloo
Works located in Waterloo, IA
, you will:
- Maintain and update existing tools and processes for steel machining.
- Support engineers in identifying and implementing cost reduction, quality, safety and ergonomic improvement ideas of limited scope.
- Support multiple steel machining departments in daily functions.
- Produce a variety of correspondence and reports in support of department processes.
- Learn SAP business software to maintain and update part process and gaging instructions.

What Skills You Need- Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
- Pursuing a 4-year degree in engineering, technology, or computer science (others may apply)
- Able to work 16-20 hours/week during the academic year and 30-40 hours/week during the summer semester
- Experience using Excel, Word, and Power point
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanical and/or electrical problems
- Demonstrated ability to write professionally
- Experience with CAD software
- Experience in machining materials (metal, wood, plastic, other)
- Experience leading/supporting cross functional teams for projects
- Experience using AI
- Experience using Power BI or similar software
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Pursuing a 4-year degree in engineering, technology, or computer science (others may apply)
- Must be registered as a full-time student at a local accredited university (Hawkeye, UNI, Wartburg, etc)
- Graduation date of 12/27 or later
- GPA 2.8 or higher
