Design Engineer | Heavy Equipment

The Design Engineer will collaborate with a team of engineers responsible for designing mechanical products and systems within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. This role supports the development of engineered solutions that meet customer specifications, performance requirements, and cost objectives. The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, advanced technical aptitude, and an interest in heavy equipment or trailer manufacturing.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required
• Entry-level to early-career (1–5 years of experience) in an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Background in heavy industrial manufacturing required
• Heavy haul trailer engineering experience strongly preferred
• Heavy equipment engineering experience a plus
• Advanced computer skills with the ability to understand and work within electronic processing systems
• Proficiency in Excel and engineering design software (CAD systems)
• Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills
• Functional understanding of cost accounting and cost-driven design decisions
• Ability to interpret business practices and identify appropriate automation opportunities
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Innovative mindset with a commitment to lean enterprise principles and continuous improvement
• Ability to quickly learn new tools, systems, and technologies
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
