Position: Patient Registration Representative - Emergency Department-Part time-2nd  shift

Patient Registration Representative – Emergency Department – Part time – 2nd shift

Join Mercy One’s Emergency Department as a Patient Registration Representative. In this role you will gather patient demographic and financial information, assign patient rooms, prepare documentation, and escort patients to the appropriate area while adhering to Mercy One’s performance expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Collect and enter patient demographic and financial data into the computer system.
  • Assign patient rooms and prepare necessary documentation.
  • Escort patients to the assigned area.
  • Follow Mercy One policies and regulations.
Schedule
  • Part Time, 24 hours a week on 2nd shift, every other weekend, with 3 holiday rotations per year.
General Requirements
  • Able to read, write and understand English and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, staff, and physicians.
  • One year of medical office experience (scheduling, insurance, or registration) preferred; hospital experience and medical terminology preferred.
  • Intermediate language, basic math, intermediate reasoning ability.
  • Strong computer skills, Windows experience; database and mainframe information systems.
  • Professional, positive image, ability to convey policies and regulations.
  • Work under pressure with diverse groups.
Education
  • High School diploma plus specialized training (minimum 6 months to 2 years); completion of Medical Secretary program or similar preferred.
