Courier

. The position is responsible for delivery of laboratory specimens, mail, and supplies between affiliated Mercy One facilities and laboratory customers.

Full time

• Transport laboratory specimens, mail, and other materials and/or supplies, providing excellent customer service skills.
• Follow established procedures and policies including infection control and blood borne pathogens.
• Handle chemicals according to established safety protocols.
• Meet defined workload productivity standards and utilize LEAN principles.
• Utilize courier logistical software and devices to track packages and document route.
• Ensure temperature-dependent materials are transported at required storage temperature.
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicles and courier bags.
• Attend and participate in department huddles.
• Accurately track packages and obtain optimal transport time using established policies and procedures.
• Participate in teaching peers.

• High school degree or GED, required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Two years' experience as a courier, preferred.
• Working knowledge of materials management, preferred.
• Valid Driver's/Chauffeurs License required; must meet Mercy One's Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, be at least 18 years of age, and be eligible to drive per Iowa state law.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training for child and dependent adult abuse within three (3) months of hire.
