We are currently seeking a highly qualified and compassionate Hospice Nurse (RN) to join our well-respected Rest Assured weekends team.

Job Schedule

This position will cover on call every weekend from 4:00pm on Fridays to 8:00am on Mondays for the entire CVH service area. Salary guaranteed regardless of hours worked on call!

  • Full Time (1.0 FTE)
  • Weekends:
    Fridays 4:00pm– Mondays 8:00am

Responsibilities
  • Our Rest Assured Weekend Nurses work together to manage the needs of all patients in all service areas while on call. This will include coordinating weekend admissions, visits, and providing guidance to other disciplines as appropriate.
  • The Rest Assured Weekend Nurses are based out of Black Hawk County but will respond to all locations as needed.
  • Every 8th weekend off, paid! Due to the equivalent of 6 paid “weeks” off already built into the position, there is no additional vacation time accrual however, sick leave will accrue based on a 1.0 FTE, and full-time benefits will be available.
Qualifications

Required

  • Current Iowa state RN license.
  • Positive attitude and team player.
  • Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to learn work-related software and have basic typing skills.
  • Current Iowa driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and car insurance.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN).
  • 2 years of recent experience as a nurse in a related field.
  • 1 year of experience in hospice or home care nursing.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
Physical/Other Requirements
  • Ability to move 50lbs without accommodation.
  • In an 8-hour day, employee may remain in a stationary position 1-5 hours and move about inside CVH site offices/locations, meeting spaces, patient residences, and healthcare facility locations 3-7 hours (or vice versa).
  • Employment at Cedar Valley Hospice requires being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (Boosters are not required) OR have an approved request for reasonable accommodations for a medical, pregnancy, or religious reason, by the start date.
  • Pre-employment/post-offer physical, TB, and drug screen required.
