Neonatal/ NICU Nurse, Pediatric Nurse
NICU RN, Part-time Days – Trinity Health – Waterloo, IA
We are seeking a dedicated Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse to provide specialized, evidence-based, and outcome-focused care to critically ill and premature newborns in our Level III NICU. The role is part-time, day shift only, and will support a dynamic and supportive environment.
About the Waterloo Birth Center
The Waterloo Birth Center includes labor & delivery, postpartum care, and a Level III NICU. The NICU contains 23 beds, with 19 large LDRP rooms that allow families to stay together for the entire stay. We also have a two‑room OR suite for patients needing a c‑section.
The NICU provides comprehensive Level III care for infants 28+ weeks gestation. A dedicated transport team assists with transfers from smaller hospitals when higher‑level care is required. Our neonatal team includes OBGYN doctors, midwives, and neonatal specialists, supporting a family‑centered care model.
ResponsibilitiesAs a NICU RN, you will: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care for newborns; collaborate with neonatologists, pediatric specialists, families, and other health‑care professionals; monitor and respond to complex conditions; provide family education; and adjust care plans as needed to ensure the best outcomes.
Schedule- 36 hours per week
- Day shift (3 am – 3 pm)
Associate degree required; BSN preferred. Current Iowa RN license, BLS, and mandatory reporter status required. NRP and ALCS certification preferred.
