What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for an LSA with learning support skills and experience to join our dedicated team of LSAs in supporting the learning, wellbeing and development of children in one of the classes of our large Church of England junior school.
Job Details- Contract and Salary:
Permanent, Hampshire Grade C, LSA 2 Role Profile 02131 - Working Hours:
22.5 per week (8:30am to 1:00pm), 40 weeks per year - Optional Additional Hours in SEND LSA Role: 10 per week (1:20pm to 3:20pm), 39 weeks per year, Grade B
The class LSA role is a rewarding one and involves working at Hampshire’s LSA 2 level, reflected in the ‘C’ pay scale. Our LSAs work 22.5 hours per week from 8:30am to 1pm each day to support learning, wellbeing, positive lunchtimes in a specific class and the class‑based LSAs work in partnership with the teacher in their class to promote learning, wellbeing and growth for every child in their care.
ResponsibilitiesLSAs support each class every morning, work flexibly with different groups of children within their class, help them engage with class learning and make progress, provide planned and responsive one‑to‑one and small group support for children’s additional learning needs, promote wellbeing, and support the children at lunchtimes to make this an enjoyable and safe part of the day.
QualificationsApplicants must have:
- Previous experience of working in a school or supporting children’s learning and development
- English and maths to GCSE level
- Effective IT skills that can support learning
Ideally, applicants will have:
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, or qualified by experience
Salary will be based on experience and will start within the FTE salary range of £25,186 – £26,244. This equates to an hourly rate of £13.05 to £13.60 and an actual salary of £13,436 – £14,000.
