Mechanical Engineer

Location: Purbrook

We are seeking either a Mechanical or Electrical Engineer to join our clients business in Portsmouth. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer with a strong building services background to work on a diverse portfolio of high-quality projects across multiple sectors.

You will be responsible for producing innovative, compliant, and cost-effective engineering designs from concept through to completion, working closely with clients, architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary design teams.

Key Responsibilities

* Produce mechanical or electrical building services designs for a range of projects.

* Prepare calculations, specifications, reports, and technical drawings.

* Develop designs from feasibility through to detailed design and construction.

* Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other consultants.

* Attend client, design, and site meetings as required.

* Ensure designs comply with current regulations, standards, and industry best practice.

* Support project delivery to programme and budget.

* Provide technical guidance and contribute to continuous improvement within the design team.

Essential Requirements

* Minimum 5 years' experience in Mechanical or Electrical Building Services Design.

* Proven experience delivering projects across several of the following sectors:

* Commercial

* Ministry of Defence (MOD)

* Heritage

* Healthcare

* Education

* Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).

* Proficient in industry-standard design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and relevant calculation software.

* Strong knowledge of current Building Regulations, British Standards, and CIBSE guidance.

* Excellent communication and organisational skills.

* Full UK driving licence
