Finance Business Partner - Durham Finance Business Partner - Hybrid Working - Senior Stakeholder Engagement - Excellent Benefits We are supporting a large, complex organisation within public sector landscape who are looking to hire a Finance Business Partner for a 6-Month Fixed Term period. This is a highly collaborative environment where finance plays a key role in shaping strategic direction, supporting senior leaders, and driving transparent, future-focused financial planning.
You’ll be joining a well-established Financial Planning & Reporting function that partners closely with leadership teams to ensure financial resources are used effectively and aligned to strategic objectives.
As an Interim Finance Business Partner, you’ll support senior stakeholders across a broad remit. The focus is firmly on strategic planning and forward-looking financial insight, with the opportunity to influence key decision-making.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading budgeting, forecasting and financial planning for your assigned areas Providing strategic insight, challenge and recommendations to senior leaders Translating complex financial information into clear, actionable messages Supporting business cases, transformation activity and ongoing service improvements Ensuring strong financial control, governance and compliance Working closely with wider finance teams to drive consistency and continuous improvement This is a visible, influential role where strong partnership and proactive engagement are essential.
About You You’ll be a qualified accountant with experience operating at a senior business partnering level. You'll bring:
Strong strategic finance capability and confidence advising senior stakeholders Excellent communication skills and the ability to simplify financial concepts A proactive, collaborative approach with the credibility to influence decisions Robust experience in budgeting, forecasting, analysis and performance reporting The ability to work effectively across multiple service areas in a complex environment This suits someone who enjoys shaping the future rather than focusing solely on cyclical reporting.
