CompanyTutor Intelligence is building the technology and processes to let robots go where they’ve never gone before: the average American factory. We understand that general-purpose and generally-intelligent robots are going to be built in our lifetimes, and we’re combining human and artificial intelligence to lead the charge. As an MIT-founded AI software company who deploys its inventions directly into the facilities that need them, on state-of-the-art hardware, every role at Tutor has a direct impact on the global, physical economy.
RoleWe are looking for a Founding Sourcer to work closely with our CTO and engineering leadership to build and maintain a high-quality software engineering pipeline. This role is focused on top‑of‑funnel generation and pipeline operations rather than full‑cycle recruiting. You will own sourcing strategy and execution for primarily software and technical engineering roles, ensure strong funnel hygiene in Lever, and partner directly with the CTO to keep hiring processes running smoothly, efficiently, and with high signal.
This is an early, high‑impact role for someone who is technically fluent, comfortable working directly with senior engineers, and excited to creatively find and engage exceptional technical talent.
Responsibilities- Partner directly with the CTO and engineering leaders to define sourcing strategies and talent profiles for software and technical engineering roles
- Generate top‑of‑funnel candidates through outbound sourcing across Linked In Recruiter and non‑traditional channels (e.g., Git Hub, Reddit, academic papers, niche communities, creative tooling)
- Manage inbound and outbound pipelines in Lever, including stage hygiene, tagging, notes, and coordination with hiring managers
- Ensure a smooth and efficient candidate flow by supporting scheduling, handoffs, and communication between candidates and engineering leadership
- Continuously experiment with new sourcing approaches, tools, and communities to reach hard‑to‑find technical talent
- Provide clear visibility into pipeline health, sourcing effectiveness, and bottlenecks
- Collaborate closely with engineering leadership to iterate on role definitions, candidate calibration, and process improvements
- 2–5+ years of experience in technical sourcing, recruiting, or a closely related role, with a focus on engineering or software talent
- Strong technical literacy; ideally a background in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field
- Hands‑on experience sourcing candidates using Linked In Recruiter and ATS tools such as Lever
- Comfort working directly with senior technical leaders and founders in a fast‑moving startup environment
- Demonstrated ability to identify, engage, and attract high‑quality technical candidates through outbound sourcing
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly around pipeline management and process hygiene
- Clear, concise written communication skills, especially for technical outreach
- High ownership mindset; comfortable operating with limited structure and building processes as you go
- Experience sourcing for software engineering, AI/ML, robotics, or other deep‑tech roles
- Familiarity with creative or non‑traditional sourcing channels (e.g., open‑source communities, research publications, technical forums)
- Prior experience at an early‑stage startup or on a founding recruiting/sourcing team
- Exposure to talent market mapping, long‑term pipeline building, or strategic workforce planning
- All offers include generous equity
- Fully covered health + dental
- Unlimited PTO
