Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with a current NY RN license and strong OR experience.
Responsibilities

• Position is based in a hospital operating room setting

• Day shifts are 8 hours, 5 days per week

• 13-week contract assignment

• Patient care focused on surgical and peri-operative cases

• No on-call required during this assignment

• No floating requirements mentioned

• Responsible for pre, intra, and post-operative patient care in the operating room

• May be required to take on charge nurse duties as assigned

• Familiarity with clinical equipment and aseptic techniques essential for OR safety

• Must be able to function effectively in stressful situations and demonstrate creative problem-solving abilities

• Strong skills in prioritization and delegation are expected
Requirements

• Active NY RN license is required

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

• At least 2 years of OR RN experience required

• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred

• Recent prior operating room experience required, or must complete and pass the Association of Operating Room Nursing Peri-operative 101 Education Program

• Minimum one year medical/surgical experience preferred

• Strong clinical assessment, leadership, and communication skills required

• Must be able to interpret lethal dysrhythmias

• 75 mile radius rule applies; local candidates not accepted
