Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in various medical settings, including but not limited to, hospitals, clinics, and specialty practices. This position requires a strong commitment to patient health, adherence to medical standards, and the ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and physical examinations.
- Perform medication administration and manage treatment plans under physician supervision.
- Assist in medical-surgical procedures and provide pre-operative and post-operative care.
- Triage patients effectively to prioritize care based on urgency.
- Administer basic life support when necessary and respond promptly to emergencies.
- Utilize medical imaging techniques to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Provide care for senior patients, addressing their unique health needs.
- Perform phlebotomy procedures for laboratory testing as required.
- Participate in the management of patients at a Level I Trauma Center, ensuring timely interventions.
- Conduct spinal taps when indicated, following established protocols.
Skills
- Strong understanding of medical standards and best practices in patient care.
- Proficiency in medication administration techniques and protocols.
- Experience or training in medical-surgical environments is preferred.
- Excellent triage skills to assess patient conditions accurately.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required;
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is a plus. - Familiarity with medical imaging technologies and their applications in patient care.
- Experience working with senior care populations is advantageous.
- Ability to perform phlebotomy with precision and care.
- Knowledge of trauma care principles applicable within a Level I Trauma Center setting.
- Competence in performing spinal taps with adherence to safety standards.
