POSITION: Purchasing and Inventory Clerk
DEPARTMENT: Purchasing
REPORTS TO: Purchasing Manager

GENERAL FUNCTION: The Purchasing and Inventory Clerk position is responsible for establishing and maintaining purchasing functions and inventory. This position also assists with quality control to ensure the best value and product is being purchased.
Responsibilities- Compile requests for materials, prepare purchase orders, keep track of purchases and supplies and handle inquiries concerning orders.
- Compare prices, specification and delivery dates to assist in determining the best bid.
- Ensure and maintain good working relationship with all vendors that serve the casino.
- Determine if inventory quantities are sufficient for needs; order materials when necessary.
- Assist departments in tracking inventory and keep records of departmental inventory.
- Able to handle questions and complaints from all departments in a professional and timely manner.
- Adhere to all Internal Control policies and procedures as well as ensure purchasing policies and procedures are followed.
- Be in continual communication with the receiving clerk to ensure proper flow of incoming orders.
- Expedite special purchases and emergency deliveries of materials.
- Maintain library of catalogs and other resources for goods and equipment.
- Performs other duties as necessary and assigned.
EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Valid driver’s license.
OTHER: Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and use of equipment. Ability to accurately enter data into computer systems. Ability to maintain files and recordings in a structured manner. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to demonstrate outstanding guest service at all times. Ability to follow directions and work independently.
Must obtain non-gaming license upon hire.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to bend, twist, reach and carry up to thirty (30) pounds or more. Sitting and standing for extended periods of time.
