Job Summary

We are seeking an Insurance Officer who is sales focused and responsible for marketing and promoting crop insurance policies with existing customers. The role focuses on service and increasing net acre growth of the portfolio. The assigned portfolio will consist of mid‑to‑large operations with a stable relationship with the company. Experienced officers with firsthand insurance experience are skilled at maintaining customer relationships and act as trusted advisors.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Sales Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary agent for crop insurance policies, providing comprehensive servicing to Hail Policies and Supplemental Insurance Products, and achieving aggressive sales production goals established with leadership in assigned marketing areas.
  • Sell Multi‑Peril (MPCI), Margin Protection (MP), Crop Hail, Pasture, Rangeland, Forage (PRF), Livestock, and Supplemental insurance products to customers and prospects, communicating options and preparing and presenting quotes.
  • Develop and execute a personal marketing plan that identifies customer needs and risk tolerance, cross‑sells all products, and builds an active sales pipeline through individual and joint sales calls.
  • Deliver sales presentations, provide product guidance to individuals or groups, represent the association at industry and agricultural events, and build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Maintain relationships with insurance company representatives to resolve policy issues, understand product offerings, and drive sales results.
  • Assist with organizing and coordinating insurance campaigns and strategies within assigned marketing areas.
Service & Processing Responsibilities
  • Provide service and processing support by processing insurance forms from multiple vendors, analyzing and entering applications online, verifying underwriting and actuarial calculations, and serving as the point of contact for policy changes.
  • Collect acreage information and process it directly online with the AIP system, report claims for the assigned portfolio, and leverage customers' precision farming data as needed.
Travel
  • Travel will be 50–70% for this role, primarily during the day meeting with customers outside of the office.
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Finance, or Business preferred.
Years of Experience
  • Experience in an agriculture related field with sales and service.
  • Relationship management and/or sales experience.
  • Experience servicing a large complex book of business and a proven record of growing a book of business.
  • Experience as a licensed crop insurance agent or insurance company representative with sales responsibilities preferred.
