About Us

Since 1997, Dakota Bodies has designed and built custom service, utility, crane, line, and flatbed truck bodies for the utility and work truck industries. We are a business unit of ATW (American Trailer World), a North American provider of trailers, truck equipment, and related parts.

About the Role

We are hiring Maintenance Technicians to keep our plant and equipment running safely and reliably. You'll work on the equipment that builds our truck bodies, including press brakes, lasers, welders, fork trucks, paint booths, and industrial ovens, plus the building systems that support them. We're hiring at three levels, and placement depends on your skills and experience.

What You'll Do Maintenance Technician I
  • Perform semi-skilled maintenance, repairs, and minor alterations on industrial equipment, including press brakes, lasers, welders, fork trucks, paint booths, and industrial ovens.
  • Handle seasonal facility work, including snow removal.
  • Use basic troubleshooting skills and read schematics to identify and fix problems.
  • Work with limited guidance, getting support from senior technicians when new or unusual situations come up.
  • Follow all company operating procedures, safety rules, and policies.
Maintenance Technician II

Everything in Level I, plus:

  • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, machines, fork trucks, pneumatics, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, plan solutions, and complete repairs with minimal supervision.
  • Apply working knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
Maintenance Technician III

Everything in Levels I and II, plus:

  • Perform skilled preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of industrial equipment and buildings.
  • Independently complete diagnostic, preventive, corrective, rebuild, upgrade, and special project work across electrical, electronics, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Maintain spare parts inventories and keep complete, accurate records of repairs and equipment history.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
  • Level I:
Basic troubleshooting skills and the ability to read schematics.
  • Level II: 1–2 years of experience performing corrective and preventive building and equipment maintenance.
  • Level III: 3–4 years of experience performing corrective and preventive building and equipment maintenance, with multi-skilled ability across electrical, electronics, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • A strong commitment to safety and quality.
  • Dependability, good communication, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Pay

Starting pay depends on experience. Your level (I, II, or III) will be based on your skills and background, with room to grow as you develop.
