The Environmental Services Aide is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of assigned areas. This includes performing cleaning, laundry, and maintenance tasks, as well as ensuring that the environment is well‑maintained, safe and pleasant for all residents and family members.
Key Responsibilities- Sweep, mop, vacuum and dust all areas.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, kitchens, living areas and bedrooms.
- Change bedding and make beds.
- Wash windows and mirrors.
- Clean floors, carpets, rugs and furniture.
- Wash, dry, fold and iron laundry as needed.
- Ensure all linens are cleaned and replaced.
- Sort and organize laundry and linens for efficient storage.
- Keep rooms, hallways and common areas organized and well‑presented.
- Replenish supplies such as soap, toilet paper and cleaning materials.
- Empty trash cans and dispose of waste appropriately.
- Recycle items as necessary.
- Use cleaning products and tools safely and according to guidelines.
- Report maintenance issues to appropriate personnel.
- Greet guests and residents, ensuring their comfort and needs are met.
- Respond to special requests regarding cleaning or services.
- Maintain a high standard of professionalism and courtesy.
- Experience:
Previous housekeeping experience preferred, but not required. - Skills:
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
- Familiarity with cleaning tools, equipment and products.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Long‑term care facility.
- May require standing, bending, lifting and carrying cleaning equipment.
- Must be comfortable working with cleaning chemicals and equipment.
