In this role, the core of your care will be ensuring that all of our customers are treated with dignity and respect. You will empower our patients, recognizing their ability to make their own choices while guiding them with kindness and understanding through challenging times.
As our first point of contact with patients and families, you'll encourage communication and interaction, creating a supportive network.
Job Duties
- Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing daily, weekly, and monthly activity programs tailored to meet the interests and needs of residents.
- Lead or co‑lead group and individual activities, including games, crafts, music, exercise, social events, outings, and religious services.
- Encourage resident participation and help residents engage based on their individual abilities and preferences.
- Transport or escort residents to and from activities within the facility and occasionally outside the premises.
- Document resident attendance and participation; report changes in physical or mental status to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist in decorating the facility for holidays, birthdays, and special events.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other staff members.
- Ensure all activities are conducted in a safe and respectful environment.
- Support resident‑centered care and promote dignity and independence.
- Maintain activity equipment and supplies, ensuring they are clean and in good condition.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Prior experience in a similar role (preferred, but not required).
- Experience working with the elderly or individuals with dementia or physical limitations (preferred).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Patience, creativity, and a compassionate demeanor.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and scheduling.
- Must be able to lift up to 5 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and standing for long periods.
