Shift: 7:00am to 7:00pm, 2‑12 hour shifts per week

$7,500 sign on bonus!

The Behavioral Health Unit is a 15‑bed inpatient psychiatric unit that specializes in treating elderly patients with mental illness including depression, anxiety, suicide attempts, bipolar, and schizophrenia. As a Registered Nurse, you will work directly with a hands‑on care team and an extended care team that includes a psychiatrist, psychiatric nurse practitioner, social worker, and recreational therapist to provide individualized psychiatric nursing care.

• Provide individualized psychiatric nursing care in a professional, competent, efficient, safe, compassionate, and caring manner.
• Assess patients’ needs, plan, implement, and evaluate the delivery of patient care.
• Carry out responsibilities independently within accepted nursing and department practice, guided by medical staff, and perform in accordance with WRMC standards and policies.
• Direct nursing care activities of paraprofessionals or other team members, providing nursing leadership.
• Ensure patient safety at all times and facilitate effective communication with patients, support personnel, and the healthcare team, applying the nursing process according to scope and standards of practice.

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), preferred

• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice or Compact State RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within the timeframe specified in facility policy
• Handle With Care (HWC) or CPI certification required within the timeframe specified in facility policy

• Six months of RN experience in a direct patient care setting preferred
• Experience in behavioral health/psychiatric nursing strongly preferred

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
