Customer Service Representative
Join Kennebec Savings Bank as a Customer Service Representative. This role focuses on accurate customer account services, teller transactions, and cross‑selling bank products.
Position SummaryThis position is responsible for accurately and courteously meeting new and existing customer account needs; performing all new account opening and account maintenance; maintaining and processing teller transactions; supporting and cross‑selling bank products/services; and maintaining accurate cash and transaction records.
Key Responsibilities- Provide account services to bank customers, open new checking, savings, certificates of deposit, IRA, HSA accounts, safe deposit boxes, notarize documents, and handle ATM/debit card services.
- Perform general account maintenance and handle certificate of deposit maturities.
- Comply with all bank and branch policies and procedures concerning customer accounts.
- Process customer teller transactions, settle cash drawer, and maintain daily work in order.
- Maintain knowledge of current KSB products and services, and actively cross‑sell them.
- Open and close the branch in accordance with procedures, record paperwork, and maintain daily work in order.
- Provide branch backup and perform other branch functions as assigned.
- Participate in community organizations and events, representing the bank.
- Attend meetings, trainings, and improve relevant skills.
Education/Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 1 to 3 years of branch banking experience as a teller/head teller and customer service representative or other customer service experience.
- Computer literate, with experience in word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Other Requirements
- Able to lift cash boxes and cash bags of approximately 20 pounds.
- Distinguish between various denominations of coin and currency.
- Operate vault combinations, read computer print‑out reports, stand or sit for extended periods, and work at a computer keyboard/monitor for extended periods.
- Use telephone for extended periods, communicate clearly, have good listening skills.
- Prioritize and organize workflow, pay strong attention to detail, handle multiple jobs.
- Think through problems and find resolution following proper steps.
- Maintain high ethics, confidentiality of customers and accounts.
- Friendly, courteous, and sensitive to customers and coworkers.
