About the RoleThe position is located in the Hathaway Center, Waterville. It involves handling patient billing issues and resolutions, setting up payment arrangements, providing price estimates, calling for collections, and facilitating initial care concerns, all while delivering an exceptional patient experience.
The Work- Manage large amounts of incoming calls
- Build relationships and trust with patients through open communication
- Receive and respond to customer inquiries, providing appropriate solutions in a timely manner
- Review patient account history and contact appropriate resources to investigate and resolve issues
- Refer or elevate issues to appropriate personnel as necessary
- Document patient accounts regarding identified issues and responses taken
- Assist with setting up payment plans and resolving billing/collection errors
- Perform other account‑related special projects
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to an ever‑changing environment
- Positive attitude in all interactions, ensuring customer issues are fully resolved
- Background in finance or health‑care revenue cycle
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, structured environment handling large call volumes
- Experience navigating payer websites and medical billing software (preferred)
- Working knowledge of insurance programs
- Understanding of HIPAA guidelines
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel
- 5+ years of extensive customer service experience (strongly preferred)
