Waterville Public Schools is excited to invite an enthusiastic and student-centered educator to join our dynamic team as a Grade 6 Science Teacher at Waterville Junior High School. We are looking for someone who is eager to foster curiosity, engage learners in hands-on scientific discovery, and collaborate with colleagues to support every student’s growth.

The successful candidate will work closely with a committed team of educators to support a strong academic foundation, while building a positive and inclusive classroom environment. • Teach science to Grade 6 students
• Foster inquiry-based learning through hands-on labs, discussions, and real-world connections
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including multilingual students and those with IEPs or 504 plans
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan, assess, and reflect on instruction
• Maintain regular communication with families and staff regarding student progress and classroom activities
• Create a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel safe and valued

• Valid Maine Department of Education certification (Elementary Teacher, 020 or appropriate endorsement for middle-level science)
• Strong knowledge of science content and instructional best practices for middle school learners
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Willingness to collaborate with grade-level and content-area teams
• A passion for working with early adolescents in a supportive and inclusive school culture
