The Waterville Public School System serves over 2,000 students of all ages in and near Waterville, Maine. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Ed Tech III to support students in our Resource Room program. This role includes providing individualized academic assistance, implementing accommodations and modifications, and collaborating closely with classroom teachers and special education staff to help students succeed. The ideal candidate is patient, flexible, and committed to fostering a positive learning environment for all learners.

- Provide instructional and assessment support under the general guidance of a special education teacher
- Work with outside agencies to support students through adaptive instruction
- Consult with classroom teachers
- Carry out lesson plans independently
- Conduct, record, and summarize student observations and progress as directed
- Ensure a safe learning environment through application of school rules and expectations, as well as policies established by Waterville Public Schools
- Exhibit a positive professional attitude with supervisors, co-workers, and students
- Maintain confidentiality of all student and employee-related information
- Perform additional tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned
- MDOE Technician III Certification (or eligible)
- Relevant education, credentials, and work experience
- Experience working with students in a school setting
- Experience with or willing to learn Braille preferred
- Background in working with multilingual students preferred
- Strong written, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Strong initiative and willingness to work independently and also as part of a team
- Able to work and communicate effectively with students, and teachers
- Cooperative, patient, and respectful of the beliefs, opinions, and confidentiality of others
