Position: Colby College 3-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Spanish (8 FTE)

Description

3-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Spanish at Colby College, a private liberal arts institution in Waterville, ME.

This position requires teaching four language courses per year, developing an ongoing research program, and contributing to the intellectual life of the college.

Responsibilities
  • Teach Spanish language courses at all levels, including beginner, intermediate composition, and conversation courses.
  • Maintain an active research agenda in literary or cultural studies or a closely related field.
  • Participate in departmental and college intellectual activities.
Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in literary or cultural studies or a closely related field completed by August 2026.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach Spanish courses and apply effective pedagogical techniques.
  • Commitment to inclusive teaching and to promoting access and opportunity for all members of the campus community.
