Sheridan Maine is delighted to be partnering with a well–established accountancy practice in Watford to recruit an experienced Temporary Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for an accountancy professional looking to join a friendly and supportive team, providing valuable assistance during a busy period.

The successful candidate will have previous experience working within an accountancy practice and will be confident managing a varied portfolio of clients while maintaining a high standard of service.

• Preparing year–end statutory accounts for a range of clients.
• Producing management accounts and financial reports.
• Preparing VAT returns and assisting with tax compliance.
• Supporting the preparation of personal and corporation tax returns.
• Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and provide financial support.
• Assisting with bookkeeping and reviewing financial records.
• Supporting the wider team with ad hoc accounting duties as required.

• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice.
• AAT qualified, ACA or ACCA qualified, part–qualified, or qualified by experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounts preparation and UK accounting standards.
• Experience using cloud–based accounting software such as Xero, Sage or Quick Books.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to work independently and adapt quickly within a new environment.
