Quantity Surveyor Social Housing Planned Works
Location:
Bishop's Stortford
Salary:£60,000 per annum + 10% car allowance (£6,000)
Total Package:£66,000 per annum

Office-Based

We are recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing team delivering a range of social housing planned works across the South Coast.
The successful candidate will have strong commercial experience within social housing, planned maintenance or refurbishment, with knowledge of NHF rates and the ability to manage costs across a range of property improvement programmes.

- Bathrooms
- Window replacements
- Roof replacements
- General planned maintenance
- Social housing refurbishment and improvement works
- Manage the commercial and financial aspects of planned works programmes.
- Prepare and manage valuations, cost forecasts and financial reports.
- Monitor project costs, budgets and expenditure.
- Manage variations, valuations and final accounts.
- Work closely with project managers, contractors and operational teams.
- Ensure works are delivered within agreed budgets and commercial targets.
- Review and assess costs against scope of works.
- Use NHF Schedule of Rates to assess and value works.
- Support procurement and tendering activities where required.
- Undertake regular site visits to monitor works and commercial performance.
- Provide accurate commercial reporting to senior management.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities and take appropriate action.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor.
- Experience with in social housing planned works, refurbishment or maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of NHF Schedule of Rates.
- Experience with projects such as kitchens, bathrooms, windows and roofing.
- Strong understanding of valuations, variations, forecasting and final accounts.
- Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects/work streams.
- Experience working with contractors and social housing clients is highly desirable.
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Access to your own car
- Willingness to undertake site visits across the South Coast approximately once a week or every other week.
- Ability to work office-based
- £60,000 basic salary
- 10% car allowance £6,000
- £66,000 total package
- Permanent opportunity
