SEN Teacher – Primary Special School

Teach Now is delighted to be recruiting a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher for a warm and inclusive primary special school in Hertfordshire, supporting pupils across Early Years, KS1 and KS2. This is a rewarding opportunity to join a nurturing environment where children with learning difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and speech and language needs are supported to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

• Plan, deliver, and adapt lessons to meet a wide range of SEND needs and EHCP targets

• Use inclusive teaching strategies to support pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, and learning needs

• Create structured, engaging, and supportive classroom environments

• Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress to inform next steps

SEND Support

• Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of Education, Health and Care Plans

• Work closely with the SENCo, therapists, and external agencies

• Implement individual behaviour support plans and positive behaviour strategies

• Support pupils’ emotional regulation, communication, and independence

Pastoral & Safeguarding

Promote wellbeing, inclusion, and positive self-esteem

Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and families

Act in line with safeguarding policies and procedures

Collaboration & Professional Practice

• Work effectively with teaching assistants and support staff

• Communicate regularly with parents and carers regarding progress

• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and annual reviews

• Engage in CPD and uphold the Teachers’ Standards
