Job Overview
An opportunity has arisen for a proactive and experienced individual to join the School of Health, Education & Care as an Assessor. The role would be ideal for someone seeking to have a positive effect on the lives and learning experience of our Childcare students.
There is the potential to assess students across Level 2 Early Years and T Level Education Programs. The successful applicant will need to have the necessary skills to support Further Education learners and be part of a large team thriving in a dynamic learning environment.
The right candidate will be someone with up-to-date industry knowledge in Childcare and an understanding of the diverse range of students with differing needs in the FE sector. The ideal candidate will be proactive, flexible and student-centred with the ability to provide pastoral care and be a strong role model for our students.
Responsibilities- Arrange DBS checks and maintain a record of checks.
- Build and maintain relationships with local employers, and create new employer links.
- Liaise with employers and monitor learner progress whilst on placement.
- Assess learners in their placement setting in line with awarding organisation expectations.
- Utilise a personal car and valid driving licence; fuel for miles covered during visits will be reimbursed.
- A relevant degree or level 3 qualification.
- Industry experience in childcare.
- Assessors’ qualification.
- Desirable experience assessing T‑Level qualifications.
- Up-to-date industry knowledge and understanding of diverse FE learner needs.
This is a part‑time role, working 30 hours per week, based at our Watford and Hemel Hempstead campuses. The role offers flexible daytime hours.
