A forward‑thinking and inclusive secondary school in Watford is seeking a highly organised and committed Exams Officer to join its administration team. This is a key role within the school, ensuring the smooth, compliant, and efficient running of all internal and external examinations. The RoleThe Exams Officer will take responsibility for the overall coordination and administration of all examinations within the school. You will play a central role in ensuring compliance with JCQ regulations and maintaining the integrity of the examination process, while providing a calm and well‑organised experience for students.
Key Responsibilities- Managing the full administration of GCSE, A-Level, and internal examinations
- Preparing and maintaining exam timetables, seating plans, and invigilation schedules
- Liaising with examination boards and ensuring full compliance with JCQ regulations
- Coordinating access arrangements in collaboration with relevant staff
- Recruiting, training, and managing exam invigilators
- Maintaining accurate and secure examination records and data systems
- Providing clear guidance and support to students and staff regarding examination procedures
- Highly organised, detail‑focused, and methodical
- Confident using IT systems and data management software
- Calm, resilient, and able to work effectively under pressure, particularly during exam periods
- An excellent communicator, able to work across multiple departments
- Experienced in school administration or examination processes (desirable but not essential)
- Committed to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and confidentiality
