About the RoleWe are looking for a Family Support Practitioner to join our team and make a difference in children’s lives every day. As the Family Support Practitioner, you will be based at the setting and work in close partnership with school staff to deliver a programme of casework that promotes and improves educational outcomes for the children and their families. You will focus on improving attendance, punctuality and engagement in learning.
Excellent relationship‑building and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate with a wide group of people are essential.
Qualifications- Previous experience working in an education setting or similar to improve a child’s school attendance and engagement in learning
- Experience engaging with parents/carers, children or individuals through individual and/or group‑based support
- Knowledge of factors affecting a child’s capacity to learn
- Experience working with families from diverse communities
- Experience in holistic family support
- Knowledge of safeguarding processes and referral routes for safeguarding children
