We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our friendly and inclusive primary school in Watford from September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity for a talented practitioner who is passionate about supporting children's learning and development and who can confidently lead whole-class teaching when required.
The RoleAs a HLTA, you will:
- Deliver high-quality learning experiences across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 as required.
- Provide PPA cover and whole-class teaching in the absence of the class teacher.
- Support pupils through targeted interventions and small-group work.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SEND staff and senior leaders to raise pupil achievement.
- Promote positive behaviour, inclusion and high expectations for all learners.
- Contribute to assessment, monitoring and pupil progress.
- Support the wider life of the school and participate in school events and activities.
- Holds HLTA status or an equivalent Level 4 qualification.
- Has substantial experience working within a primary school setting.
- Demonstrates excellent classroom practice and behaviour management skills.
- Has a strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
- Is committed to inclusion and supporting children with a range of learning needs.
- Builds positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents and the wider community.
- Is organised, flexible and able to work independently and as part of a team.
