Aspiring Classics / Latin Teacher Program (£24,066)
Salaries are dependent on experience and skillset, ranging from £24,066 to £36,718.
One of the Schools is now looking for an Aspiring Classics / Latin Teacher to join their Secondary School this September 2026. This is a full-time, term time only position with the school employing you directly.
You will be working across the Humanities Department, supporting KS3‑4 lessons, while having a focus on attainment & the quality of learning. This is the perfect opportunity if you're an aspiring Classics / Latin Teacher looking to gain experience before enrolling onto teacher training.
Key points about the scheme- Paid position on the Unqualified Teacher (UQT) scale (most commonly UQ1)
- Employed directly by a school from day one
- Higher initial teaching load, typically around 15 periods per week
- Teaching load gradually increases to approximately 20 periods per week
- One dedicated training day per week
- Opportunity to gain QTS with PGCE (optional opt‑out available if required)
- Working at one School throughout – avoiding any conflict in different teaching styles (reducing stress on the teacher)

- Carrying out GCSE & A Level interventions
- Enrolling onto the Aspiring History Teacher Program (Schools Direct)
- September 2026 start – Full Time & Permanent
- Located in Bushey
- Graduate with a Classics, Latin, Comparative Literature, Modern Languages, History, Archaeology, History of Art, Philosophy, or Theology/Religious Studies degree from a reputable university
- Good A Levels & GCSEs across the board
- Confidence in knowledge of both the GCSE & A Level curriculum
- Ability to engage and motivate students
- Commitment and ambition to succeed throughout
- Rapidly improving Good‑rated school (Ofsted 2024) with clear upward trajectory and strong leadership driving consistent progress
