Learning Support Assistant – Bushey

Location: Bushey area
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time
Pay: £85–£115 per day (Dependent on experience)

Supply Desk are currently seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in the Bushey area. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide classroom assistance, helping pupils to access learning, build confidence and achieve their full potential.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and enjoys making a positive difference to the lives of children by providing tailored support within the classroom. The role may involve working with individual pupils, small groups or supporting the wider class, depending on the needs of the school.

Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with their learning both in the classroom and during small group or one-to-one interventions.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Help pupils remain focused, motivated and fully engaged in learning activities.
  • Provide additional support to pupils with varying learning needs where required.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, confidence and independence.
  • Support pupils' social, emotional and academic development.
  • Assist with classroom preparation, learning resources and general classroom organisation.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Help maintain a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
Role Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting is desirable.
  • A positive, patient and supportive approach to working with young people.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Good behaviour management skills.
  • Passion for supporting children's learning and development.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding.
  • Primary or secondary school experience (desirable).
