Teaching, Learning and Assessment Specialist

Overview

We are seeking an exceptional, high-performing teaching specialist to join our Quality Team. This is a cross-college role working across Barnfield College and West Herts College at all campuses – Watford, Barnfield and Hemel Hempstead.

The main purpose of this role is to drive excellence in teaching, learning and assessment. You will be supporting teachers to become highly effective practitioners through coaching and development, and you will be involved in a range of quality assurance, improvement and CPD activities.

• Support teachers to become highly effective practitioners through coaching and development.
• Lead and participate in quality assurance, improvement and CPD activities across the College group.
• Design and implement engaging lessons using effective planning, teaching strategies and assessment practices.
• Deliver coaching, training and liaise with stakeholders; act as an integral team member.
• Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; contribute to continuous improvement using professional standards, including the OFSTED Toolkit.

• Fully qualified teacher (L5 Cert. Ed. or equivalent).
• Experience as a consistently high-performing teacher in a Further Education college setting.
• Experience with a range of awarding organisations; understanding of external assessment processes is beneficial.
• Ability to design, plan and deliver engaging lessons; strong communication and initiative; confident in delivering training and coaching.
• Willingness to develop others through coaching to improve practice and support staff to improve.
