About the Role

We are seeking a caring and motivated Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school, working within a specialist Autism Provision. You ll play a vital role in supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), helping them to access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with additional needs, working closely with teachers and the wider SEN team to provide tailored support that enables every pupil to thrive.

Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) within the specialist provision and mainstream classroom where appropriate.
  • Support pupils with their academic, social, emotional, and communication development through personalised learning strategies.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver individual education plans (IEPs) and support targeted interventions.
  • Promote positive behaviour using consistent and appropriate behaviour management techniques.
  • Encourage pupils  independence, confidence, and engagement in learning and daily school activities.
  • Adapt learning resources and classroom activities to meet individual needs.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, colleagues, and external professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
Requirements
  • Passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs, particularly Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
  • Patient, caring, and committed to helping every child succeed.
  • A confident communicator with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Able to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families.
  • Calm, adaptable, and proactive in responding to the individual needs of pupils.
  • Dedicated to creating an inclusive environment where every child feels safe, supported, and valued.
