Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Support Autistic Children and Make a Difference

Full-time, temp to perm

From £90 to £120 per day

We are working with a highly rated school in Watford that prides itself on creating a caring and supportive environment. The school is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support autistic children and help them succeed both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborating with teachers to create and deliver engaging learning activities
Supporting students through personalised action plans and strategies to aid progress
Assisting with Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Risk Assessments, Personal Care, and Therapy programmes
Working closely with teachers, support staff, families, and external agencies to provide tailored support
Building positive, therapeutic relationships with students and responding to their individual needs
We’d love to hear from you if you:

Have experience working with autistic children, or a strong desire to develop in this area
Understand SEN and are committed to learning and professional growth
Can commit to full-time, fixed days
Hold a relevant qualification such as NVQ in Childcare and Education, or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools

May have experience in residential care, school support roles, or personal experience with ASC
Are willing to complete training such as Team Teach, TEACCH, or positive handling
Have experience supporting independence and social-emotional development in young people
Hold a clear and valid DBS, or are willing to obtain one
Driving license preferred
