Salary depends on experience and qualifications. Higher rates apply to candidates with substantial relevant experience and/or qualifications.
Hours:
8:30am-3:30pm, term time only;
Monday to Friday for full-time applicants, part-time days to be agreed.
Develop your SEND career as a Key Stage 3 Assistant Special Educational Needs Coordinator at a secondary school in Watford. Supporting pupils aged 11-14, you will work closely with the SENCO and teachers to keep SEND provision organised, consistent and responsive to individual needs.
This administration-focused role involves maintaining SEND records, tracking support plans and interventions, and preparing Education, Health and Care Plan reviews. You will gather updates from teachers and communicate with families and external professionals, keeping information accurate and confidential.
The opportunity could suit an experienced Teaching Assistant, HLTA, SEND administrator or pastoral professional seeking wider inclusion responsibilities without taking on a qualified SENCO post.
Requirements- Experience supporting pupils with SEND in a secondary school or comparable education setting.
- Sound understanding of SEND provision and Key Stage 3 pupils needs.
- Experience maintaining accurate records and handling sensitive information confidentially.
- Strong written communication and confidence using digital systems.
- Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS check, or willingness to obtain one.
- Maintain SEND records, support plans and documentation for Key Stage 3 pupils.
- Track interventions, provision and progress, highlighting gaps or changes to the SENCO.
- Help organise Education, Health and Care Plan reviews, meetings, referrals and follow-up actions.
- Gather teacher feedback and evidence of the impact of SEND support.
- Communicate with parents, carers and external professionals while maintaining confidentiality.
- Help develop consistent SEND processes across year groups.
- Opportunities to contribute to inclusion across Key Stage 3.
- Close collaboration with the SENCO and insight into wider provision planning.
