Mechanical HVAC estimator

We are looking for an experienced HVAC Mechanical Estimator to join our team. The role involves the detailed preparation and pricing of HVAC tender returns for commercial projects across the UK, covering both design & build and traditional procurement routes.

• Detailed preparation of HVAC mechanical tender returns from drawings and specifications
• Preparation of Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for HVAC and associated mechanical works
• Pricing of design & build and traditional tenders, including outline design information and employer’s requirements
• Carry out full HVAC take-offs including ductwork, A/C Systems, pipework, plant, insulation, and ancillaries
• Build comprehensive cost estimates covering labour, materials, plant, subcontractors, and preliminaries
• Issue enquiries to suppliers and subcontractors and assess returned quotations
• Review tender documentation to identify risks, exclusions, clarifications, and value-engineering opportunities
• Attend and support post-tender interviews, assisting with technical and commercial clarifications
• Liaise with project managers and construction teams during tender handover following award
• Maintain up-to-date pricing, labour rates, and estimating records
• Liaise with clients to maintain and build relationships

• Minimum 5+ years experience in a mechanical/HVAC estimating role
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and UK construction practices
• Proven experience producing detailed HVAC tenders and Bills of Quantities
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Competent with estimating and take-off software. Experience using Ensign take-off software is advantageous
• Good written and verbal communication skills
