Job Description & How to Apply Below
Shape Major Projects. Drive Commercial Success.
Join a leading UK infrastructure contractor delivering complex civil engineering projects across water, energy, transport, and the built environment. With a strong pipeline of secured work and long-term frameworks, this is an opportunity to become part of a business where commercial expertise has a direct impact on project performance and profitability.
Working across schemes ranging from £200k to £10m+, you'll play a key role in driving value, influencing strategy, and ensuring successful project delivery.
The Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll work closely with operational teams and act as the commercial lead across a range of projects.
Responsibilities include:
* Producing and managing cost value reconciliations (CVR), forecasting, and cash flow reporting.
* Procuring and managing subcontract packages, including negotiation and account management.
* Administering NEC3/NEC4 and IChemE contracts, managing change control, risk, and compensation events.
* Identifying commercial opportunities and mitigating potential risks.
* Supporting project teams to improve efficiency and maximise margins.
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners.
This is a position where you'll do far more than report figures — you'll help shape project outcomes.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
* Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or infrastructure.
* Strong knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 and/or IChemE contracts.
* Experience managing subcontractors and the full commercial lifecycle.
* Excellent forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting skills.
* A proactive approach with the ability to identify risks and opportunities early.
Desirable
* RICS membership, or working towards chartership.
* Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
* Experience working with direct delivery contractors.
Why Join?
* Long-term, secure workload across major UK infrastructure projects.
* Genuine career progression with a business that promotes from within.
* Strong investment in training, development, and leadership programmes.
* Exposure to projects across multiple sectors, broadening your experience.
* Supportive, people-focused culture.
Package & Benefits
* Competitive salary and benefits package.
* Car allowance and flexible benefits options.
* Pension, private healthcare, and life assurance.
* Generous annual leave plus additional loyalty days.
* Structured career development and leadership training.
* Employee Assistance Programme and wellbeing support.
* Volunteering days and a strong focus on work-life balance.
If you're looking for a role where your commercial expertise will be valued and your career can continue to develop, we'd love to hear from you
