IFRS Finance Manager - Watford, Hertfordshire

JSS are delighted to be partnering a leading, employer of choice, based in Watford, Hertfordshire. JSS are recruiting a new IFRS Finance Manager position, whose primary responsibility is ensuring that the group and statutory accounts are IFRS compliant. This will be achieved through the creation of an IFRS policies. An excellent knowledge of accounting standards is a pre-requisite to being successful in this role.

The IFRS Finance Manager will be the go-to person for all IFRS accounting queries; therefore 3-4 yrs experience with IFRS is a pre-requisite requirement for this role.

The Role:

The IFRS Finance Manager role based in Watford, Hertfordshire will be responsible for the following:

• Responsibility for creating best-in-class robust IFRS accounting policies.
• Collaborate with and get buy-in from internal stakeholders across Finance to inform understanding enabling the delivery of the most appropriate accounting standards.
• Introduce a robust balance sheet reporting and monitoring process to include random sampling, reporting of risks and opportunities and updating the existing policy
• Create a centralised IFRS accounting policies library that all finance colleagues can access
• Be the go-to technical expert for all IFRS accounting queries
• Deliver regular reports and updates to senior leaders on the progress and evolution of accounting policies including any financial impacts from changes to policies or accounting estimates.
• In relation to the above, support the commercial team by tracking and regular reporting of the impacts of adopting changes to accounting policies or estimates.
• Overseeing the production of accounting memos and providing high level technical accounting guidance, you will also challenge and align with auditors.
• Provide analysis and recommendations from an operational and reporting standard
• Ensuring a robust control environment exists and drive continuous process improvements.
• Preparation of the annual Financial Statements under IFRS.

Profile:

We are looking for an ACA or ACCA qualified focussed candidate with the following experience and skillset:

• A qualified accountant with 5-6 years of experience working with IFRS accounting standards
• An excellent knowledge of accounting standards is a to being successful in this role.
• Experience ensuring group and statutory accounts are IFRS compliant.
