Senior Financial Accountant

Senior Financial Accountant - FTC or Permanent - £65,000 to £70,000 - Watford - Free Parking onsite - Hybrid Working with 3 days in the office

Our client is a medium to large business with multiple entities in the UK and Europe. They have been acquisitive and are currently experiencing change within the business which has led to an opening for a new hire as a Senior Financial Accountant.

You will be working as part of a collaborative finance team. The main purpose of the role will include production of the financial accounts, fixed assets and depreciation.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS
• Calculation of depreciation, prepayments, accruals and other provisions
• Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
• Liaise with external auditors to coordinate audit processes and respond to queries
• Reconcile financial statements with internal ledgers and management reports
• Production of quarterly management accounts
• Month end tasks, including journal postings and reconciliations
• Assisting with migration to a new Accounting System, including reconciliations and data testing
• Assisted with the preparation of the group financial statements to ensure compliance with tight deadlines
• Deliver process improvements and identify opportunities to make repetitive tasks more efficient
• Ad-hoc reporting as required by management and other functions within the group

Communication and collaboration across stakeholders in the group will be key.

Knowledge & experience:

• Qualified accountant - ACA / ACCA / CIMA
• Previous financial accounting experience is essential and ideally a background in Audit.
• Partnering across offices with accuracy and attention to detail
• Work to strict deadlines
• Good to advanced Excel skills
• Proactive approach to improving processes
