### Finance Manager# We’re working with a growing business in Watford that is looking to recruit a hands-on Finance Manager to support its expanding UK operation.

Operating within the technology sector, the business is going through an exciting period of growth and is looking for someone who can help strengthen its finance function as it develops.

This is a broad, varied role that would suit an experienced Management Accountant looking to take the next step or an established Finance Manager who enjoys being close to the detail.

You’ll be involved in everything from management accounts and month-end reporting to budgeting, forecasting and improving financial processes. We're looking for someone practical, approachable and happy to get stuck in, particularly within a business where things are continuing to evolve.## Key responsibilities
* Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
* Manage month-end processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
* Support budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management.
* Oversee day-to-day transactional finance activities, including purchase ledger, sales ledger and bank reconciliations.
* Maintain accurate financial records and effective financial controls.
* Produce financial reports and analysis to support business decisions.
* Identify opportunities to improve existing finance processes, systems and reporting.
* Work closely with colleagues across the business, providing financial information and support.
* Assist with year-end accounts and audit preparation.## What we're looking for Ideally, you'll be a qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA), although strong candidates who are qualified by experience will also be considered.

You'll also bring:
* Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Management Accountant or similar broad finance role.
* A strong understanding of month-end, management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
* Experience of budgeting, forecasting and cashflow reporting.
* Microsoft Dynamics experience would be particularly advantageous.
* Strong Excel skills and good general systems knowledge.
* Experience with in an SME, operational or growing business environment would be beneficial.
* A practical, hands-on approach and the confidence to work independently.

Perhaps most importantly, we're looking for someone who enjoys getting involved. You'll need to be comfortable moving between management reporting and day-to-day finance activities, rather than wanting to sit purely at a strategic level.
