We are looking for an Associate Audiologist to join our Adult audiology department at West Hertfordshire.
The successful candidate will be motivated, will show initiative and take a forward‑thinking approach to achieving goals, working within a multi-disciplinary team. This post involves the provision of daily hearing aid repair services, providing counselling on use of hearing aids, assistive listening devices and communication tactics, stock control and ordering, and general administrative duties, including management of the clinical office across both Watford & St Albans sites.
Postholder will be 60% clinical and 40% non‑clinical.
This is a full‑time role, Monday‑Friday. Exact working hours to be agreed on successful application.

Main duties of the jobTo be responsible for the day to day running of the 'same day' drop off repair clinics, ensuring all required resources are available to ensure the smooth running of the clinic; to include scheduling of appointments, regular checking of the drop off service and dealing with requests in a timely manner.
To perform required maintenance as requested, including replacement of corda tubes and retubing of moulded ear pieces, cleaning and performance checks. To also make minor adjustments to settings such as activating a volume control or adding a program, as requested by patients.
Coordinate with admin team to ensure all office tasks are completed to standard and within time frames.
Receive and register all referrals into the service, along with handling appointment management and bookings as part of the clinical office.
Waitlist management of all referrals and bookings, ensuring patients are booked within DM01 target of 6 weeks; escalating any capacity constraints to management team.
Ensure targeted booking of appointments based on triage or clinical outcomes to support timely care.

Job responsibilitiesThe post holder works alongside other members of the Audiology Department reporting to the Audiology Manager. The post holder has a supervisory responsibility towards admin team. Other major working relationships include ENT, Hearing Therapy, Paediatric Audiology, Speech and Language Therapy, other hospital departments/wards, GP surgeries.
Person Specification Education and qualifications- 4 GCSEs inc English & Maths at Grade C or equivalent.
- Qualification in hearing aid audiology such as HAC / Diploma in Hearing Aid Audiology which enables HCPC registration
- Foundation degree in Audiology or equivalent.
- RSA, NVQ or equivalent typing and computer skills.
- Auditbase (In house training).
- RSA Level 2.
- Related experience with hearing impaired patients.
- Audiology clinical pathways knowledge.
- DM01 performance targets.
- Knowledge of ePR and other NHS software.
- Experience of working in the NHS or healthcare setting.
- Experience of working with the general public.
- Experience of line management.
