Network & Systems Engineer

Salary: £42,000 - 52,000 per year

• Around 5+ years recent Network / Infrastructure Engineering experience
• Strong hands-on Cisco networking knowledge, ideally at approximately CCNP level
• Strong Windows Server and Active Directory experience
• Good firewall knowledge
• Experience working with Azure
• Broad enterprise infrastructure experience
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable remaining technically hands-on
• A current CCNP qualification would be beneficial, although recent practical Cisco experience is more important than certification alone

• Support and maintain Cisco network infrastructure
• Provide 3rd line support across server and network environments
• Support Windows Server and Active Directory technologies
• Support Azure and Microsoft 365 environments
• Manage and troubleshoot firewalls and wider network security technologies
• Support backup, recovery and core infrastructure services
• Investigate incidents and complete root-cause analysis
• Assist with infrastructure upgrades, projects and continuous improvement activity
• Work closely with wider IT teams and third-party suppliers where required

We are working with a client based in Watford to recruit an experienced Network & Systems Engineer into an established IT team. This is a broad, hands-on infrastructure role covering both networking and Microsoft technologies, with a particular emphasis on strong recent Cisco experience. The role is permanent, onsite, and offers a salary of £52,000. The successful candidate will support a business-critical infrastructure environment and work across a mixture of on-premise and cloud technologies.
