The RoleA highly successful independent school based in Bushey is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation, maintenance and development of its buildings and grounds. This is a key position within the school's operational leadership team, responsible for ensuring the site remains safe, compliant, and maintained to the highest standards.
Responsibilities- Lead and supervise the Estates Team
- Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance
- Oversee contractor management
- Ensure statutory compliance requirements are met
- Manage health and safety procedures across the site, including risk assessments, fire safety systems, planned preventive maintenance schedules, security systems, and contractor compliance
- Manage maintenance projects and monitor facilities budgets
- Oversee site security and maintain accurate compliance records
- Ensure the school's buildings and grounds provide an outstanding environment for students, staff, and visitors
- Experience managing building maintenance
- Experience in health and safety compliance
- Experience in contractor management
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Knowledge of statutory compliance requirements
