An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated Shared Patient Record Technical Programme Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership for the Hertfordshire and West Essex Shared Patient Record service.
Hosted by West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, the service enables health and care professionals across multiple organisations to access relevant patient information safely and securely, supporting more coordinated, effective and person-centred care. The programme is entering an important phase of development as it transitions to a new operating model and aligns with wider regional and national ambitions for interoperability and a future Single Patient Record.
The post holder will lead a complex portfolio of digital and interoperability developments, overseeing programme governance, service performance, supplier and contract management, financial planning, stakeholder engagement, risk management and benefits realisation. They will work closely with clinical, operational, digital, technical and information governance colleagues, alongside Integrated Care Boards, partner organisations and technology suppliers.
Main duties of the jobThe role will also contribute to shaping the future direction of shared records across the Central East geography, supporting greater alignment between existing Shared Care Record environments and emerging NHS Single Patient Record priorities.
We are seeking an influential and credible senior leader with substantial experience of delivering complex digital, interoperability or transformation programmes within the NHS or a similarly regulated environment. The successful candidate will combine strong programme and commercial management skills with excellent stakeholder engagement, strategic thinking and the ability to translate complex requirements into deliverable plans and measurable outcomes.
This is a significant opportunity to shape a strategically important digital service and improve how information is shared across organisational boundaries to support better care for patients and communities.
The post holder will provide strategic and operational leadership for the Hertfordshire and West Essex Shared Patient Record service, ensuring its continued delivery, development and optimisation across health and care organisations.
