Our client, an established sheet metal manufacturing company based in Letchworth Garden City, is currently looking for an experienced TIG Welder / Fabricator to join their busy production team.

This is a genuine temp-to-perm opportunity for a skilled TIG Welder with fabrication experience who is looking for a long-term position with the opportunity to become permanent.

The successful candidate will be responsible for TIG welding and fabricating sheet metal components to a high standard, ensuring all work meets the required quality and specification standards.

• TIG welding sheet metal components to a high standard
• Fabricating and assembling metal components from engineering drawings
• Preparing materials for welding, including cutting, grinding and finishing
• Working with a variety of sheet metal materials and thicknesses
• Using hand tools, power tools and fabrication equipment
• Measuring, marking out and checking components for accuracy
• Producing neat, accurate and high-quality welds
• Inspecting completed work to ensure it meets quality standards
• Fettling, polishing and finishing welded components when required
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment
• Following health & safety procedures at all times
• Working closely with the production team to meet deadlines

• Previous TIG welding experience within a sheet metal or fabrication environment
• Good fabrication and metalworking skills
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
• Confident using hand tools, grinders and fabrication equipment
• Experience working with thin-gauge sheet metal would be advantageous
• Good attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work
• Reliable, hardworking and punctual
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• MIG welding experience would be beneficial but is not essential

Full-time, Temp to Perm

£16.00 – £18.00 per hour
, depending on experience.
